Personal Motivation & Modeling Journey
How long have you been modeling, and how did you get started?
I started modeling in Houston about a year and a half ago, and it actually began with one of Krystie's Boudy-call shoots: B.Y.O.Band-Tees. I couldn't resist an opportunity to immortalize my collection of concert tees with her.
What inspired you to pursue modeling? Was there a particular moment or experience that sparked your interest?
Modeling has always been something I was interested in. I took classes when I was young, but I never felt comfortable on film...until digital came along. Since then, I've really enjoyed the opportunity to create beautiful images with so many amazing people.
What types of modeling have you done before, and how does boudoir compare?
I've been fortunate to try many different modeling styles in a short amount of time: Horror, Fantasy, some Fashion, Cosplay, Conceptual, Editorial, and of course, Boudoir. Boudoir holds a special place in my black little heart, not only because it's where my journey started, but there's also something so empowering about being captured in such a raw and vulnerable way.
How would you describe your personal style as a model?
Dark, moody, and dramatic for sure. I love trying new concepts and themes, but I always bring an emotional edge to anything I do. And some type of sun protection.
How do you balance photo shoots with other aspects of your life?
With multiple calendars. Time moves so quickly for mortals, I mean people, that I always try to keep a digital and a physical calendar to help me keep my schedule and plan enough time to rest and recharge.

Working With Krystie
What stood out to you about her approach to boudoir photography?
Krystie is SO creative, I love all the different concepts she comes up with! She can make the most out-there ideas sexy and vibrant. The way she plays with light and contrast to give such dramatic visuals that don't take away from the subject always blows me away.
How did she help you feel comfortable or confident during the session?
She puts on awesome music, talks you through it and is present in the moment with you the whole session. She's so perceptive, she knows exactly when you need a gentle push or a minute to breathe and holds space for that.
What would you say to others about working with her as a photographer?
Every time I get the chance to shoot with Krystie, picture a vampire happy dance because that's what I'm doing. She is a true professional with the energy of a true friend. Whether you've known her for 5 minutes or 500 years, Krystie will make you feel like you've known her forever and deliver a phenomenal experience and phenomenal images.
Did the experience change the way you view yourself or your confidence in any way?
Absolutely, my boudoir shoot with Krystie helped me feel like myself for the first time in a very, very long time. I was struggling with my self-worth and body image and those pictures and that experience was really encouraging and continues to inspire me even on my toughest days.
How would you say boudoir photography complements your overall modeling journey?
A lot of my modeling involves stepping into different characters and bringing that energy and emotion to whatever concept I'm trying to protray. For me, boudoir is a great way to strip down and just be myself without worrying about being staked by an angry mob.

Tips And Advice
How did you prepare for your shoots? Did you do anything special in terms of mindset, outfits, or self-care?
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I drink plenty of water (maybe a little blood, but mostly water), and moisturize beforehand to make sure I keep my supernatural glow. Mood music is non-negotiable to get into the right head space for the shoot.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a boudoir photoshoot, what would it be?
Do it!! Pick an amazing photographer (like Krystie) who's style you love and makes you feel comfortable because that energy will shine through in all your images. Then put your favorites on the walls of your castle, like I did.
How would you describe your overall experience in three words?
